Parent Layer: Threats

Name: Landscape-level Wildfire Threat

Display Field:

Type: Raster Layer

Geometry Type: null

Description: This wildfire threat layer measures the potential for widespread landscape-level damage to an entire ecosystem. Ecosystems are defined as each unique WHR type/tree seed zone, the latter used to capture genetic diversity within each WHR type. For each ecosystem, we calculate the percent of the acreage that is "unhealty", i.e., in a condition class that reflects an abnormal fire regime (classes 2 and 3). This is typically due to fire exclusion, but in some cases can be from too frequent fire. Ecosystems are then ranked based on percentage of total ecosystem acres that is unhealthy.
