Parent Layer: Threats

Name: Landscape-level Forest Pest Threat

Display Field:

Type: Raster Layer

Geometry Type: null

Description: The "Landscape-Level Threat" captures the threat of damage to ecosystems at the landscape scale. This is derived by calculating the percentage of each forest vegetation type in each unique tree seed zone that is expected to have at least 50 percent stand level tree mortality over the next 15 years. The threat to a particular small area is called the "Stand-Level Insect / Disease Threat", and is based on expected tree mortality over the next 15 years, as developed by the USDA Forest Service' Forest Health Protection Program(FHP) . Major Forest types are represented by the WHR classification scheme. Seed zones are used to provide landscape-level zones related to preserving genetic diversity of specific tree species.
