Display Field:

Type: Raster Layer

Geometry Type: null

Description: The "Landscape-Level Damage" data set captures recent damage to ecosystems at the landscape scale (over the last 15 years). This is derived by calculating the percentage of each forest vegetation type in each unique tree seed zone that has experienced recent, high severity insect, disease or drought related tree mortality over the last 15 years. The threat to a particular small area is called the "Stand-Level Insect / Disease Damage", and is based on actual tree mortality over the last 15 years, as Mapped by the USDA Forest Service' Forest Health Protection Program(FHP) aerial detection survey. Major Forest types are represented by the WHR classification scheme. Seed zones are used to provide landscape-level zones related to preserving genetic diversity of specific tree species.
